Ice and Mixed Climbing Strength: An 8 Week Pre-Season Course

7- 8 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays, starting Wednesday, Sep 17 - Nov 5

This series is focused on building sport-specific strength, endurance, and injury prevention to meet the demands of technical winter climbing. Utilizing Montana’s only commercial drytool cave, prepare for the upcoming ice season with a blend of strength training and time on tools to start the season scratching at full speed. 


Whether you’re a seasoned winter technician, looking to break into that next grade, or simply wanting to improve your fitness in the frozen vertical, this series will give you the physical edge necessary. 


What to Expect:

  • Functional, sport-specific strength and endurance

  • Intentional, technique-driven training

  • Injury prevention

  • Time on tools

  • Community building alongside like-minded individuals


What to Bring:*

  • Ice Tools

  • Helmet

  • 20-40 L pack (what you would use on a multipitch/alpine route)

  • A notebook/way of recording training data

  • Light Gloves (optional)

  • Safety Glasses (optional, but encouraged)

  • Psyche 


*Extra tools/packs/helmets can be provided upon request*
